Legal
Acceptable use policy
Effective date:
OrbiCrawl AI is built for lawful B2B lead generation from publicly available information. This policy draws the line clearly. It is part of the Terms of Service — violating it can lead to suspension or termination.
1. Permitted use
- Crawling publicly accessible websites to build B2B prospect lists.
- Enriching, scoring and exporting that data for your own sales and marketing.
- Pushing leads into your own CRM and automation tools.
- Monitoring public websites you have a legitimate interest in (competitors, partners, your own).
2. Prohibited crawling
- No authentication bypass: do not target pages behind logins, paywalls or access controls, and do not use the Service to circumvent IP bans, CAPTCHAs or technical protection measures.
- No prohibited targets: do not crawl sites whose terms you know prohibit it where that prohibition is legally enforceable against you, and do not target government restricted systems, healthcare portals or banking systems.
- No harm to targets: do not configure crawls intended to overload or disrupt a website. Platform rate limits exist to keep crawling polite; do not attempt to evade them.
- Respect robots.txt unless you own the target site or have its operator’s permission to ignore it.
3. Prohibited data use
- No consumer-sensitive data: do not use the Service to collect health, financial-account, biometric or children’s data, or special-category data under GDPR.
- No spam: outreach using extracted contacts must comply with anti-spam law in the recipient’s jurisdiction (CAN-SPAM, PECR, CASL and equivalents) — always identify yourself, always honor opt-outs.
- No stalking, harassment, doxxing or building profiles of private individuals unrelated to a business purpose.
- No resale of raw data as a data-broker product without your own independent legal basis and compliance program.
4. Prohibited platform behavior
- No reverse engineering, scraping or benchmarking of the Service itself for a competing product.
- No sharing one account across organizations, or reselling access without a partnership agreement.
- No uploading malware, attempting to breach our infrastructure, or probing other customers’ workspaces.
- No using AI features to generate deceptive, defamatory or unlawful content.
5. Enforcement
We may throttle, suspend or terminate workspaces that violate this policy, remove offending data, and where the law requires, notify authorities. We consider context and intent — honest mistakes get a warning and help; deliberate abuse gets removed. Report suspected abuse to abuse@orbicrawl.com.
